Who are we?
Dalslands gin is a collaboration effort by several local entities in the beautiful Dalslands region, located in the west of Sweden sharing its borders with Norway and the all so impressive Vänern lake. The products can be traced back to a small village between Åmål and Bengtsfors, called Edsleskog.
Edsleskog is a historic village in Dalsland that has welcomed pilgrims since before 1200. Surrounded by magnificent forests, mirror-like lakes and Natura 2000 reserves, the area is rich in botanical plants such as juniper, elk grass, wild apple, rowanberry, lingonberry, blueberry, and more.
Edsleskogs Wärdshus
By Hanneke and Johan Postma
At Edsleskogs Wärdshus we welcome many hiking guests who we take out on tours. Picking various botanicals and exploring the wilderness.
The spruce and birch depicted on the bottle label were drawn by a hotel guest who stayed at our inn and are located in the garden by the lake.
Nordmarkens Destilleri
We collaborate with Nordmarkens Destilleri in Holmedal on Dalsland's northernmost lands. There is a small 125 liter kolon boiler in a classic style. With a lot of courage we wait for the head, heart and tail and cut according to the taste of the senses.
Our new make has 72% and is diluted with seawater from Edslan to 48%
